Testimonials

As a non runner - meaning someone who hated running all their life, at 47 I decided I wanted to give it a go. My goal was to run 5kms but ended up running a half marathon - all thanks to Suzie!!

I could not have done it without her. I kept hitting a wall at 3k but with her patience, encouragement, support and personalised programme, I did not look back.

When we made the decision to enter the half marathon, we had three months to prepare, which was a bit of a stretch, but on the day, I felt great - really confident and raring to go!

Crossing the finish line was quite emotional. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I could run that far without stopping - and finishing 20 mins quicker than we expected.

I am filled with such gratitude for Suzie. If she didn't take me under her wing when she did, I would have definitely given up, but instead I got so much more than I bargained for. I feel fitter, I am eating better and have so much more energy. It feels fantastic.

In a moment of weakness Alison decided she would commence a running program with Team Keem Coaching. As someone who was exercise adverse, I was more than surprised at her decision, but with a simple goal of getting fit, losing some weight, and being able to run 5km's, I was more than happy to support her, and happily joined the program.

From the very start Barry constructed a program that specifically targeted both our levels of fitness and ability. In committing to this structure we have continually built on our strength and speed and our ever improving results are testimony to just how effective the program has been. Both Barry and Suzie have provided the motivation, the vision and the education for both of us to improve at a rate that has been amazing. The confidence we have gained were key for us to enter our first ever race and the satisfaction in achieving that goal was fantastic.

Alison and I have lost a significant amount of weight, in a sustainable way. We now think nothing of running over 10km's and have set our sights on our first half marathon, all within 6 months of training.

We cannot thank Team Keem Coaching enough for helping us realise our goals and potential. We have more energy, focus and commitment and we can now truly call ourselves runners.

6 years ago I decided to jog as a means of keeping fit. Never would I have thought that 6 years on I would still be running and loving the sport more than ever!

With Barry as my mentor and coach he has shared with me his passion and knowledge of the sport. Barry has taken me from being a non runner to being able to compete in events at an elite level.

Under Barry’s guidance and structured training I am still seeing improvements in my results. He has taught me that through hard work and determination anything is possible.

After completing my first marathon in 3:34minutes, I was ready to take on the next challenge and complete a marathon in less than 3 hours. As both a friend and training partner, I discussed such goals with Barry, who then designed a program specifically focusing on improving my strength, speed and endurance.

As the weeks and months of training passed, Barry continually assessed my progression and would adjust the program to meet my needs and skills. The peak of my training involved running a total of 120km per week. With much credit to Barry’s immense amount of knowledge and experience in running, I remained injury free.

After a total of 6 months of training, I achieved my goal and completed the Gold Coast marathon in 2 hours and 59 minutes. Without Barry’s expertise and positive motivation, I would not have accomplished a 35 minute personal best.
